This was a real BLACK and BLUE game (yea, I know it's a pun, but I'm writing it anyway). BLUE took it to BLACK right from the first minute of play and didn't let up, scoring two unanswered in the first, a short sider by Kevin Gualdoni and a nothing but net one timer by Brian Cunningham (our highlight goal of the night) with 4 seconds to go in the first, a real heartbreaker. Add a third in the first 90 seconds of the second on a long breakout pass, and BLACK was reeling. It looked like a comeback could be in the works as BLACK scored about a minute later, but BLUE answered on the very next faceoff and the rest is history. BLACK adds one more late in the third, but it wasn't enough, as Santa stuffs the hockey socks of the BLUE team, 4 to 2, the BIG UPSET of the evening. |
