Game Comments :
This game was a back and forth, up and down the ice affair. Despite some great offensive efforts, the goalies had everything covered through the first 2. Then with 6:58 left in the third, Ficorelli took a pass from Booden and put the puck on the net. Although it looked like Zyrek had it handled, it fell back into the net making it one – zip Blue. White was looking at another scoreless game when, after an icing call and bit of scrum at the resulting face-off, the Tony Chaivre pulled the puck from the defense and put it in the net evening the score. A minute twenty later, Gualdoni rounded the back of the net and saw Stempien in the circle; the pass was on target and Stempien’s one timer through traffic was too much for Haines and White took their first lead in three games. Blue kept on pressing, but in the last minute with goalie Mike Haines on the bench, it looked like Blue was set up in the offensive zone when Stempien stole the puck and flipped it in from center ice, to ice the win for White. |
